1st ANNUAL STEAMBOAT BAY

A FE Outrider Hosted Adventure

Join FE Outrider’s own, Jeff Forrester, on an Alaskan Sport-fishing Adventure

June 12th to 16th, 2026

Join us for the hosted angling adventure of a lifetime to Steamboat Bay, where adventure meets luxury. We will enjoy 3 days of some of the best fishing Alaska has to offer.

ALASKA SPORT FISHING

Southeast Alaska sport fishing is exceptional due to the seasonal runs of spawning salmon, the resultant nutrient-rich spring runoff, craggy underwater topography, and warm Pacific upwelling.

The region is a natural habitat for millions of bait fish that in turn attract the famed fish of Southeast Alaska—wild king (Chinook) and silver (coho) salmon, halibut, lingcod, and more than 20 species of rockfish. Southeast Alaska’s best fishing spots are all near to Noyes Island, the site of a once thriving now bygone salmon cannery.

Off the Dock of the Bay

As the only lodge on Noyes, Steamboat Bay Fishing Club is quite simply the closest lodge to the best fishing in Southeast Alaska. Guests have been known to catch their salmon limits inside the bay, within minutes of the Club dock. With its dream location, expert U.S. Coast licensed fishing guides, and personalized guests services, the Club provides a singular luxury Alaska sport-fishing experience.

THE FISHING

At roughly 31 square miles, Noyes Island is similar in size to Bainbridge Island in Washington State or Saint Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Formed by ancient volcanic activity, the island’s craggy shoreline and underwater environs shelter countless herring and other bait fish that feed on nutrients brought in by spring melt and warm Pacific upwelling.

These small fish in turn attract the succession of ever-larger species—including rockfish, lingcod, halibut, silver salmon, and the mighty king salmon—the wild fish of Southeast Alaska for which the area is known. Humpback whales, orcas, sea otters, and other spectacular marine creatures also thrive in the surrounding waters.
